What is so rare as a day in June?

She was tired out before we even left for church...
We've been keeping busy.  Some of Bob's cousins went swimming together on Tuesday and Cecily and I got to join them.  She wanted to go down the slide pretty badly, but I don't think she realized that there was water at the bottom... so going under kind of scared her.  *grin*  Probably a good thing.  She spent most of the rest of the time begging people to take her in the boats.
Hope was happy to oblige, thankfully.
Emmy just chilled in the shade in her ridiculous (but cute!) swimsuit.
After swimming we went to Michelle and Nathan's house to paint some more.  Their air conditioning wasn't working so it was rather toasty painting upstairs on a super hot day.

"Headlines don't sell papes, Newsies sell papes!"  It's a fine life...  (carrying the banner...)  haha.  Hopefully that song's in your head now too.
So Bob was hanging out with Dang Thursday night... and of course a big storm came through and the power went out.  Cecily was totally unfazed.  She was just mad that we couldn't finish watching Princess Gigi (thanks Chris-nina!).  She was pacified with her princess dress up magnet things while I discovered that most of our flashlights had dead batteries, corroded batteries, or burned out bulbs.  And we are out of batteries.  And the camping lantern probably needs fresh ones because it's very dim.  So we hung out at the kitchen table by the light of tea lights and a pillar candle and our poor lantern. Woe is us.
Friday morning the girls and I stopped in to see Baby Trey on our way to Michelle's house again.  Cecily got to go to the farm and I finished up the painting and helped Michelle put away all her kitchen stuff.  We got to walk to Pinky's that evening with Grace-n-eden and Sprout.  I love ice cream.  Bob got to go in search of a new modem because ours got fried in the storm.  Lucky him.

Somebody loves salsa.  And refuses to eat anything in casserole form.  Odd child.  "I can't try that.  I can't eat some of that casserole."  At least chips and salsa is semi- healthy.
Saturday we did not help Nathan and Shelly move... terrible siblings, I know.  Bob cleaned out the dryer vent pipe though, so that was good.  And I got the front door painted.  And two families from church got to see our daughter running around with no pants on...  *sigh*  Keeps me humble, right? We went out to Bob's parent's for supper because Susan's home.

Sunday was quiet.  Today I have gotten to deal with the Comcast repair guy (our house phone works again-yay!), a boil order, and horrendous w-mart brand diapers.  Ugh.  They leak like a sieve.  At least it's motivation to hurry up and get the elastics replaced in our cloth diapers... since she's definitely chubby enough to wear them now.  hehe.  Little Chubby Hugs.

Anyway.  Blessings.

We'll rally round the flag, boys, we'll rally once again...

Happy Flag Day!  We actually flew ours today... I don't often because I would have to remember to bring it in every day.  *grin*
Snacks and P.J's.
T-fest was last weekend.  We didn't spend much time there this year.  I went to the drive through for turkey sandwiches on Friday night; then walked up with the girls for lunch on Saturday.  We didn't stick around long because it was supposed to rain and I wanted to get some yard work done.  Bob got the yard mowed and then I spread Sevin (it comes in granules! I love Sevin.) and the rain watered it in nicely for me.  I'm hoping it will help with the insane amounts of biting bugs in our yard.

Little Chubbs... hehe.

My parents came to T-town Sunday, because they haven't been in a long time.  And because W-ton was invited for supper and singing that evening.  Cecily was a little unsure of how to act with them at her church... and of course she did not want Grandma to hold Emmy.  Ayiyiyiyi.  Supper and singing was fun.  I found it amusing that all the W-ton people said Emmy looks like a Wyss... and then Tremont people would say she looks like a Koch.  She looks like a baby.  A chubby one. Which we love.

We like to color.  Little miss has new crayons and they are just too tempting.  hehe.
Bob taught Bible School this week so us girls had some free evenings.  We went to the park one night.  And spent an afternoon and evening "helping" Nathan and Michelle paint their new house.  Emmy either slept or kicked quietly while I painted their bathroom mint.  I despise painting bathrooms.  So many edges to cut in and tubs and mirrors and toilets that get in the way...
Cecily was at the farm for a while; then they brought supper over.  For the record, this was Michelle's idea.  And I'm blaming you, Shells, if she tries it here.  *grin*
And then today was flag day.  She wanted to wear stripes.  And she was pretty excited to have her own little flag.  I have no idea how Emmy can sleep through Cecily's joyful chaos.
It was so nice out!  I got to mow and get all kinds of random work done outside, which I love.  Bob was inside taking random pictures of the girls.  *grin* Such a good dad.  She's starting to smile more!  Yay!  I am not sad to be leaving the newborn stage...
Although if she survives life with her big sister, it will be a miracle.
 Awww... Happy Father's day Bob!
Blessings.

The days are just packed

For people who like comparisons...

Cecily

Emmy
I took the girls to the park for the Memorial day service.  Getting out of the house is difficult at best these days... when we are trying to be somewhere at a specific time it's even worse. Little miss actually did pretty well being quiet the whole time.  She called the ROTC officer the "king"... he did have a dress uniform with a sword.  And she didn't get scared of the guns at the end.  My favorite part is always taps... and the bugler is amazingly fantastic.  Yes, I know I'm a trumpet nerd.
I think this was a train...
 "I sleepin with sister!"
We spent one afternoon at the farm.  It was hot and the kitty was hiding so we spent lots of time wandering around looking for him.

Somebody isn't very fond of heat, like me.  So we got out the paints...  yes, Mom, I did let her use my rather pricey Prang watercolors... they're all we had.  *grin*
One of Bob's coworkers has a meat smoking side business.  We got a rack of ribs last Saturday- they were so good.  Little miss I-only-eat-meat-if-it's-nuggets-or-hot-dogs even liked them.
She's obsessed with 'chapsh-gigs.'  I have to hide my chapstick now.  And try and keep her from putting it on Emmy.
 Little Chubby Hugs.  hehe.
We walked to the park one night and then stopped at Pinky's on our way home.  Emmy slept.
Cecily went down the slide over and over again.
Trying to slide down the turtle... it doesn't work well.
Ooooh, and we have to carry her red chair back to my new Adirondack chairs every time we go outside.  Bob was nice enough to put together the kits that I bought and then I spray painted them red.  They are "IH red" like our doors.  Well, I haven't gotten around to painting the front door yet, but our other doors.

Other than talking Bob into changing out the rest of the light fixtures in the bedrooms (so now we've replaced almost all the lights in the house, hehe) it's been quiet around here.  Which I love.
Blessings.
