Thanksgiving was late in November this year so I feel like I procrastinated a little too much on all the things. And things were scheduled all in the first two weeks of December and it was kind of crazy for a while there.
So at some point Perrin will be too big for a high chair and we don't have a real kitchen chair for him. I found a set of 3 project chairs on marketplace so I got to make a trip to good old Eureka and had to stop at Faire while I was there. One of them needed the seat re-glued and of course our clamps were not big enough so we had to borrow some from Bob's dad. And that's as far as I got, because, the holidays are upon us.

We went to W-ton for Thanksgiving. We were going to be on time for church (for like, the first time ever) until we called Perrin to come get his coat on. Yeah. He wasn't happy with the shirt I had chosen for him and had thrown a fit. He had stripped off all of his clothes. By the time we re-wrestled him into pants and a shirt and shoes and socks and (the absolute injustice!) a coat, we were late. He was not a happy boy on the drive. 😝
He cheered up at Grandma's house. I think this table ate mashed potatoes and bread.
These two are the best. Aunt Pearline told us a story about how her brother in law got her name at Christmas when she was about 15... she wanted clothes, but she just knew she was gonna get a Bible. She got a Bible. "Now what did I want with a Bible?!" 😂
We brought along these body bumper balls.... someone *ahem* Kelly *cough* gave them to us at our 40th party.
Lethargic from the Turkey... and telling birth stories.
Aww... Grandpa Fred and baby Desiree.
We celebrated Jack's birthday in the evening.

The girls were itching to start decorating for Christmas. Perrin was only mildly annoying them. ha.

Matt and Susan were both home so we spent an evening at Bob's parent's house. The Christmas train is always a hit.

I said I wasn't going to sew dresses for the girls this year.... but I like it when they match and I'm also cheap and so I sewed Perrin a shirt. (You know, so much easier.... ha.)

And added some matching embellishments to Amazon dresses. (Mom, are these FAST FASHION!??? Maaaayyyyybbeee...haha.)

We got a little bit of snow and my mail fetchers were quite excited. :)

Poor Cadence. We were on day 10 of the antibiotic for strep and she broke out in a rash. Her doctor called it a non-allergic reaction and so we sent her to school. It was itchy, and they had recommended an antihistamine... well all we had was benadryl, which was at the bottom of his list because of side effects. Anyway, I gave her a dose because it was bothering her. Then she threw up, which freaked out her hypochondriac sister. She was fine all day at home, then threw up in the middle of the night and was fine all day again. *sigh* So she missed two days of school and we weren't sure if it was from the rash or the benadryl or what. There are reasons I didn't go into medicine... 😜

We got a Christmas tree! Little buster brown liked all the trees.
This new van is so much more flexible with seating- I fit five kids and a tree. :)
The garlands became roads.
They put up the ornaments without too many arguments. ish.
One of the days Cadence missed was the GS Christmas program, so Emmy and I took Miriel.
Sunny days call for finishing up the field work on the front porch.
We all got to go to the Hometown Christmas. Perrin liked the animals.
We walked around and did some crafts and shopping.
Some of us roasted marshmallows.
Some got cocoa.
I like our cute little town. 😊
Next on the schedule was the church program... squirrels... one nice picture is too much to ask.
Miri gets to wear my old coat this year, and she might be the first one who is excited about it. 😋
Mr. Buster. He usually sleeps through the girls getting up for school, but one morning he was up and mad at the world. Pancakes didn't even help. And then, to add insult to injury the early morning sun was right in his eyes. "da sun is looking at me!" 😂
Little art director Miri decided that she and Perrin were going to recreate the picture on this vintage puzzle. "Mom, take a picture of us!" (I've created a monster and I love it.)
Then Emmy got hit with a bug- much speculation on if she got it from Cadence or if it was different. She missed the MS concert, so I actually went to that alone. She wanted to sleep by the tree... she was fine but tired the next day and ended up missing two days also.
We made gingerbread and sugar cookies one afternoon. Always a test of my patience.
We got snow on a still day and the flakes were so big and beautiful. I drove the kids out to the woods to "see his woods fill up with snow" which was lovely. Probably not the smartest idea though, I knew we didn't have much tread on the front tires. But we went slow and carefully and didn't end up in the ditch like other cars we passed. "The only other sound's the swish of easy wind and downy flake."
We had to frost all of our cookies.
Very enthusiastically.
Goose. :)
I took Benzene cupcakes to my students to celebrate my birthday early. I also had them 'Chemistry Carol' to the general science class. I loved it. Pretty sure they think I'm off my rocker. 😁 "Deck the Halls with rubber tubing! Falalalalalalalala"
We found a really long icicle.
There was not really enough snow to do anything with, but they gave it their best shot.
Blessings.
