The girls had an early out day one Friday, so we went to the zoo. It had been a few years. There was much map reading and much telling them to slow down and enjoy the animals so we could get our money's worth. :P
O look, two little squirrels kangaroos.
And giraffes! I like watching the giraffes.
Of course the animal statues are almost as much fun as the real animals.
I'm a sucker for gift shops... oh well. Somehow a little zebra jumped in our stroller.
Since we were there, and it's probably going to be replaced soon we had to play on the "castle" playground one last time. I remember when it was pretty new.... which makes me old....
Oh look! A tiny piano on the piano. :D
The annual Koch wiener roast was on a rather warm night. I took all of one picture...
There was a really bright double rainbow on the way to tumbling! It was starting to fade by the time we arrived, but it was really pretty.
You know what's worse than hanging wallpaper? Hanging dollhouse wall paper. The girls: why is it so wrinkly?? Because. It is. Go away. :P
Kandace and Cliff hosted cousins night- the girls are pretty sure that they need hot wheels now.
You know what else is hard? Shingling a dollhouse.
But, I finished it! And Cecily moved in her new furnishings. She's so excited to decorate it, which I love. It turned out really cute and it's making my dollhouse look... outdated.... remind me how much I hated wallpapering....
I spent a Tuesday going to appointments, starting with the dentist in the morning (woot), and then the ob in afternoon (ugh). Cadence was super excited to get to go to Betty's after school, and Miriel surprised me by not wanting to leave when I finally got back. Then I went to sewing club in the evening. It was a long day, I am not used to being away from my house so much. ha.
I'm not tired! I don't want to go to bed!
Grandma's computer has not been working for her so Bob spent some time trying to fix it one afternoon... and we all tagged along because we were off school for conferences. Ha. We probably wore out our welcome. :D
Jump ropes!
They were trying to jump together. It was marginally successful.
We had a fairly busy weekend- I dropped the girls off at the farm before testimonies on Saturday. They helped Mom pick apples, and did all kinds of things on her to-do list and even managed to write a happy ending verse to "Pretty Red Wing" before I picked them up again. 😂
Sunday evening we were planning a wiener roast with Bob and Brent's Sunday school kids. Except the forecast was for 3-4 inches of rain sooooo.... we moved it to Bob's parent's barn. Not quite as fun as outdoor activities, but it was dry.
The girls played a few rounds of "Danger."
The boys were a little bit less excited about quiet board games.... haha. One unnamed individual slipped some hotdogs up the sleeve of his sweatshirt and hid them around Roger's workshop. Um. What. They found most of them before they left.... 😬 eeesh. 5th grade boys are weird.
I inadvertently forgot to take my nausea meds one night and woke up dizzy/woozy/slightly nausea/faint/sweaty. Huzzah. I tend to have that reaction when I stop taking strong antihistamines anyway, but it was worse since I've been on them for months now. Anyway, Bob got to get the girls ready for school that morning, and I thought he did a great job. Hehe. Even her hair looked cute.
Sometimes.... I just don't even know. 😜
I hadn't bothered to get any pumpkins yet this year so we went to the pumpkin patch after school. They had alpacas.
Someone was not really all that excited about the animals. :P
Such excitement.
Oh! Pumpkin! I pick it!
Good times. Blessings.
