Spring Break, Spring Cleaning, and various and sundry happenings

I'm falling behind and I shall attempt to try and catch up.  :)
Cadence's class visited Miri's class on biography day and they took a picture together.
I don't remember kids having quite so many birthday parties when I was in grade school.  I was painfully shy so I probably wasn't invited anyway, but still... Cadence got invited to yet another party, at Elevate this time.

It made more sense logistically for me to just hang out there until the party was over so I brought my knitting like the elder millennial (grandmillennial?) that I am.  haha.  I was working on a pair of socks- knitting two at a time on circular needles because, know thyself, I would never start the second sock if I only did one at a time.  Also, I made the same mistakes in the same places so they look identical.  :)
Perrin enjoys 'washing' the dishes for me.

Spring break is for doll tea parties.

And animal gatherings.

And spring cleaning.  The older girls' room took two days because there is way too much stuff in too small of a space.
I bought a scrubbing attachment for the drill because I hate scrubbing the shower.  It's so old and stained that even if it's been freshly scoured it still looks dirty.  It worked really well and it was much faster and more powerful than cleaning by hand!

Day two in the girls' room.  If they would just put things away...
Everything is a parking lot.
We were looking for rain boots and went to see the baby chicks, but they were sold out. 😜

Spring break goals: teach girls to crochet.  One down.

I took the kids to see Great Grandma Lydiann.  They went straight for her toys.

Perrin found a school bus.  :P
Our next stop was 'the big inside swimming pool' and I took zero pictures because I was wrangling kids.  :)  I'm not sure if I should be glad or nervous that Perrin decided that he's comfortable with the water and doesn't need to be held at all times.

Mr. Perrin was convinced we were going to have a picnic for lunch, but it was super windy so the girls convinced him to have a picnic inside.  😋
Two down. (very reluctantly. ha.)
Meanwhile, student number one picked it up so fast..... she only knows one stitch but she figured out how to make different shapes and crochet in the round.  Little miss "I don't want to learn to crochet, I only like to knit, you can't make me learn it."  😋😏
Three down.  😁  Miri figured out her knitting mushroom, so that was another fiber arts win for the week also!  Ha.

My kids are weird. Just walking around the yard, crocheting away with a bag of yarn slung over her shoulder.

Birthdays at the farm.

Perrin helped me vote.
So our van was leaking fluid onto the garage floor and we took it in... needed a new gasket, should only take a day or two.  Bob took it in on his way to work on a Friday (with both car seats....dlakjfslakdjkd) and we were hoping it would be done by Monday afternoon. They gave him a super fancy, super pricey loaner SUV to drive in the interim.  Too fancy to let the kids destroy, plus we didn't all fit so we drove two cars all weekend.  Then on Tuesday, April 1st, April Fools day, Bob texted that they had just called him- um... they hit a vehicle coming out of detailing.  You have got to be kidding me.  Please say this is an April Fools joke.  Nope. 😫 At least we didn't have to pay for the new bumper.  It did mean that the van was in the shop for over a week and we were getting very tired of driving two vehicles and I missed my automatic sliding doors.

I will wait for sisters. 😄 Someone liked having them home for break.

Emmy's friend has a much beloved stuffed cat that used to go everywhere with her.  Unfortunately Juju was almost loved to death and we offered to try and patch her up.
Little boys and sticks.

Little boys and puddles.
Little girls aren't much better when it comes to water, even when it isn't all that warm.

They got more wet 'washing off the mud' than they did in the puddle.
I felt a little bit like The Repair Shop putting Juju back together. :)  Not quite good as new, but no more holes!

And then Emmy kept saying Juju was in the hospital so I couldn't resist sewing a hospital gown.
Hehe.  It was so cute.
Then Emmy made her discharge papers and took pictures of her recovering.
Like eating pudding.  😂

Bob's Sunday School class sorted clothes for a service project.  I brought the younger kids along too.
We got a whole shipment of old hotel sheets and towels so it was pretty easy sorting.

Mr. Perrin was in it for the snacks.
Lazy Sunday afternoon painting session.

Someone loved the waiting room and the cartoons and was not quite so excited about his 3 year checkup.  :)
There was a small trim nail sticking out right at Perrin's eye level. "I will get muh hammer."

Perrin was very quietly playing in the basement... with the girls' dollhouses.  *sigh*  Stacked grand pianos do not bode well.

Eden was in the musical Annie, so the girls and I went to see it.  They enjoyed it.  The curtain opened, "Mom, it's like a movie!" haha.  Miri was getting restless towards the end though.

I tried to get a picture of the girls with Eden afterwards, but my phone wouldn't take it, then when it did it was not great.  Ha.  😆  Oh well, proof that we were there.

Sunshine and sand... and a silly little buster who always puts the hood up if he has a coat on.
Bob says I can't collect any more furniture for someday, but he did let me get this canoe bookcase off marketplace.  For Perrin's room, someday.  I tried to get a different one and was #4 in line.... this one there were 3 people after me... who knew canoe bookcases were so popular?!
The girls sang another good Easter program.  They moved the start time up so we had time afterwards for milkshakes.

Perrin drank his, took his straw out, put the cup on the table and said, "more."  Also, Goose has the best hair for sponge rollers, the curls last all day!

I remember poking holes in eggs, blowing out the insides and then painting the hollow eggs when I was a kid and wanted to try it again this year.  Getting the yokes out was harder than I remember.

We had a little bit of a miscommunication on the Thursday we were going to do Passover. It worked out well though, because Dang ended up coming over for supper.  And he got roped into playing 'Ten Plagues Headbandz' which cracks me up.

The girls are always most excited for deviled eggs and watermelon.  I think Perrin just ate watermelon. Oh well.  I did not have a brisket in the freezer this year so I bought some ground lamb and made lamb balls. They tasted like meatloaf to me.  And a beef roast for the picky among us. *cough* all the kids *cough.* We even got out the china, and Perrin insisted that he wanted a pretty plate too. 😂 Somebody once told me not to worry about things money can fix, so he got china also.
Happy Passover!  Next year in Jerusalem the woods?
Blessings.
