Summertime is here again

Finally.  We were all quite ready for the end of the school year.

"Tex" enjoys doing dishes.
I had surgery on the 21st to remove my parotid tumor.  It was a long day.  We were supposed to get there at 11, then they moved it up to 10.... and then we waited for hours.  We spent part of the time being amused by the lady on the other side of the curtain.... although, she and her son kept talking about fast food restaurants and chik-fil-a sauce and I was already sooo hungry. 😜  Actual operation time was only 38 minutes.  They had asked how I respond to anesthesia and I had no idea; the last time I was fully under was in 1994 when I broke my arm.  I don't respond well. I came out so super groggy and dizzy.... after throwing up twice the nurse gave me something strong in my IV. I could hardly remember how to get dressed and I kept nodding off, but they discharged us and we were home that evening.  There's a nerve that runs through the parotid gland so I was pretty numb and not in much pain, which was good and meant that I didn't really need the strong meds for very long.  Lovely 'facelift incision'.... too bad I'm not wrinkly enough yet to get any extra benefit.  :P
Anyway, I spent Thursday and Friday in a fog so Bob got the girls to school and took last day of school pictures.  Cadence loved her teacher so much.
And the middle schoolers...
And Miri-goose.  After she went full day she finally decided to learn the alphabet and is doing a lot better academically.  😜 (Sharon worked with her some and told me stories... apparently she would get a little impish look in her eyes and say "wubble-you" for W.  Goose.)

I don't think the big box of chalk will last long.

Bob spent some of Saturday at the Game convention.  The kids split their time and also went to the farm.  I laid around and took naps.  😋  I was supposed to host potluck and almost didn't cancel, but I'm glad I did because I'm not as invincible as I think I am.  Instead, potluck brought us meals for a week.

Poor Mister Buster.  I was still not very clear headed by Sunday and extremely tired so I stayed home with Perrin; Bob and the girls went to church.  He was very sad to be left behind, even though we let him wear his church shirt.
Who needs a pool when you have a hose?
I had the girls weed the garden.  I wasn't supposed to lift more than 10 lbs and that probably included not weeding the garden, but attitudes were rather poor and quality was suffering so I helped and it was kind of exhausting.
"The Doctor said you can carry my blanky upstairs!"  😜
So much chalk art.
I don't mind cooler weather, nor does buster.
The girls basically cleaned the whole house that first week.
Cadence even learned how to clean a bathroom. 😊 (She was so excited.  I hope she stays excited because I don't particularly enjoy cleaning bathrooms...)
And Cecily kept the laundry moving.
We need to get a pool up, they keep getting wet in their clothes and I'm already tired of having the bathtub full of soaking wet clothes.
A bunch of Kellenbergers were in town for Karen and Randy's 50th anniversary.  Fred and Dianne had everyone over the night before. I was feeling much more myself (and Bob's back was bothering him) so I took the kids over after supper.  They have an empty grain bin, so, grain bin singing!

That's.... not a ramp.  *sigh*
More water, but at least they changed into swimsuits!
I took advantage of some Memorial Day sales and bought more light fixtures....
With the lights I already have,
and the ones I ordered....
...it's getting a bit ridiculous in the storage room.  One of these days I will get them all organized. 😝
Someone is in an annoying sleep pattern... wakes up early, falls asleep briefly right before supper, then he's up too late at night.  And I get woken up by a little stinker turning on the light, "Momma, why you not waking up? The sun is up and the moon is down!"  😂
They had fun large sized games at the library- this XL tetris was really cool.
And Jenga.  :)
It has been dry, so a rainy day was welcome!  I sent them outside... the girls were being fine ladies and said Perrin was a gentleman.  "No! I NOT a gentleman!"

I sat in the garage and read a book and they played in puddles and washed equipment in the downspout.
Emmy baked brownies and cookie bars.
Cecily made short cake.  They're so accomplished and I so proud es you!
It took over two weeks to get the pathology report back, but my tumor was officially benign.  I wasn't super worried since 80% of salivary gland tumors are, and it was looking and acting benign- if it walks like a duck...  And also Uncle Randy, who is usually pretty doom and gloom, 'this is theee worst!' about medical things wasn't worried at all.  (Incidentally, he had a parotidectomy a few months before me so now we have matching scars. 😋) Still, it's nice to know it's all out and not cancer.

It's T-fest weekend!  We walked around merchants night.
The middles wanted face paint. :)
And of course ice cream.

Perrin really wanted to check out the rides... haha.
But I had evening plans, so we headed home.  Perrin spilled his slushy onto the stroller tray and proceeded to bail it out onto the road with a spoon.  😜😂
I left them making frozen pizza and met up with my W-ton girls for supper at Olive Garden.  It's always good to hang out with them and catch up on their lives.  We spend a fair amount of time reminiscing too... this trip and the rain storm we drove through came up again. hehe.  Circa 2003, so 22 years ago....eeeeeesshhh ossshhh we are getting old.
And a little more recent...ish circa 2009. 😉

And 2017. :D
