Showers and dress fittings or: how I've used two tanks of gas this week.

After a quiet Saturday at home we had a pretty crazy busy week.  We spent Sunday in Champaign for their alumni open house and picnic.  It was really good to go back for a visit; it has been a long time since we were there.  Way too long.  They made us wear name tags with the years we were in C-U at the picnic so Bob made Cecily one too.  Poor girl.  She's doomed to be an Illini.

Michelle's showers started Tuesday night.  woot woot.  We all know how much I adore going to showers... or something.  I dropped Cecily off at Fred and Dianne's so she got to play with Tate, who is pretty much her favorite person right now.  "Wo Tate?  Nice."  She even voluntarily gave him a kiss when I picked her up.   He made her a bucket.
It came complete with rocks, and has since been banished outside (rock grit and wood floors do not mix).
Wednesday I got another cavity filled.  I've had about enough of those.  The numbness is no fun and the smell of the filling stuff gives me a headache and then I feel sick to my stomach the rest of the day.

The W-ton church shower was Thursday night and Cecily got to come with me.  She got to play and I had got to write all the gifts down.  She got a Brother.  It was hilarious.  (for the uninitiated, that's a sewing machine brand)

Friday afternoon Cecily and I headed to the farm to help pot up terrariums for the reception.  Fun times.  Sorry Shels, but I'm kind of getting tired of wedding.  hehe.

And then finally, this morning I drove to El Paso to try on my bridesmaid dress.  Eeeee.  They are going to be so cute.  (And slimming!  Great rejoicing from me!!)  Shelly tried her dress on and kept looking at herself in the mirror and making funny happy noises.  It's gorgeous.   *sigh* *sniff*  I think you better put kleenexes in our clutches because I'm going to need them...

Oooo.... so this afternoon Bob's dad came over and he and Bob replaced the lights in what is going to be a playroom/family room/ sewing room in our basement.  They are much brighter and they are all on one switch!!  No more random pull chains!!  Yay!  Next up:  getting carbon fiber reinforcement on the bowing wall next week.
